Ingredients
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 tablespoons olive oil or unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Lemon wedges (for serving)
Instructions
- Heat the Oil: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil or butter over medium heat.
- Cook the Garlic: Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) to the skillet. Sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
- Add the Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until they turn pink.
- Flip the Shrimp: Turn the shrimp over and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until cooked through and opaque.
- Finish with Lemon: Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the lemon juice. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
