Soft Pastry Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 glass of  milk
  • 1 glass of water
  • 1 tablespoon yeast
  • 1 tablespoon  sugar
  • 1 teacup of oil
  • 1 egg (reserve the yolk for the topping)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 5 cups flour

For the Filling:

  • 3-4 potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons milk
  • Parsley

For the Topping:

  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions:

  1. In a suitable kneading bowl, combine the milk, water, yeast, and sugar. Mix well.
  2. Add the oil and egg, then mix again.
  3. Gradually add the flour and salt, kneading to form a soft dough. Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour.
  4. For the filling, mash the boiled potatoes until smooth. Add butter, milk, and salt, then mix well. Stir in the chopped parsley.
  5. Punch down the risen dough to release the air, then divide it into 3 equal pieces. Roll out each piece into a square shape using a rolling pin.
  6. Spread the filling over the dough and roll it up into a log shape.
  7. Cut the rolls into equal pieces using a dough cutter.
  8. Place the shaped pastries on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with the egg yolk and milk mixture.
  9. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) until golden brown.
