Texas Sheet Cake

 

 

 

*ingredients

 

 

 

°2 cups all-purpose flour

 

°2 cups white sugar

 

°1 teaspoon baking soda

 

°Half a tsp salt

 

°Half a c sour cream

 

°2 egg

 

°1 c butter

 

°1 c water

 

°5 tsp cocoa powder

 

°6 tsp milk

 

°5 tsp cocoa powder

 

°Half a c of butter

 

°4 c confectioners’ sugar

 

°1 tsp vanilla

 

°1 c chop walnuts (optional)

 

 

 

* Methods

 

 

 

Step 1

 

Heat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). Greased10″ x 15″ skillet & greased it with flour.

 

Step 2

 

Mixing flour, sugar, baking soda & salt. Beating in sour cream & eggs. Sit apart. Melt the butter over low heat in a saucepan, add the water and 5 tablespoons of cocoa. Bring mix to a boil, & removing it from heat. Allow to cool slightly, then stir in cocoa mixture with egg mixture and mix until combined.

 

Step 3

 

Pour the mixture into the prepared skillet. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

 

Step 4

 

To decorate: In a large saucepan, combine milk, 5 tablespoons cocoa, and ½ cup butter. Bring the mixture to a boil, then remove from the heat. Add the confectioners’ sugar and vanilla, then add the nuts and mix until combined. Spread the frosting on the warm cake
