Instructions
1. Prepare the Cake:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
- Stir in the boiling water (the batter will be thin). Pour evenly into the prepared pans.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
2. Make the Frosting:
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar and cocoa powder, mixing on low speed.
- Add salt, vanilla, and heavy cream. Beat on high speed for about 3 minutes until the frosting is fluffy and smooth.
3. Assemble the Cake:
- Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of frosting on top.
- Place the second layer on top and frost the top and sides of the cake.
- Garnish with chocolate shavings or fresh berries, if desired.
4. Serve:
- Slice and enjoy your Chocolate Heaven Cake!
