Ingrédients :

2/3 cup yellow CORNMEAL
1 Tablespoon all purpose FLOUR
1 Tablespoon granulated SUGAR – edited
1/2 teaspoon baking POWDER
1/2 teaspoon baking SODA
1/8 teaspoon of kosher SALT
1/8 cup veg OIL
1 EGG
I added 2 Tablespoons of Half and Half and 2 Tablespoons of Water…add more if needed.
So about 4 tablespoons of milk of your choice.
Had my skillet heating in 400 oven with 1 tablespoon of oil….takes a few min to get good and hot.
Then poured my batter in – listened to that good sizzle that creates the good crust.
I baked mine 15 minutes. When you remove flip pan on a rack immediately so it won’t sweat and get a soggy bottom.
I’ve made cornbread with butter..with buttermilk…with bacon grease…but I preferred what I put together today the best…yummy clean corny taste. You don’t have to put sugar in if you are one of those people lol. Have your knife and butter ready.
