Homemade Parmesan Garlic Breadsticks

Ingredients:
1 cup warm water (110°F)
2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
2 tbsp granulated sugar
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
3 tbsp olive oil
4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tbsp dried parsley
Instructions:
In a small bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil, stirring to combine.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a breadstick shape and place on the prepared baking sheet.
In a small bowl, mix melted butter and minced garlic. Brush the breadsticks with the garlic butter.
Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese and dried parsley over the breadsticks.
Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
Notes:
Serve warm with marinara sauce or alongside your favorite pasta dishes.
For a cheesy twist, sprinkle some mozzarella cheese over the breadsticks before baking.
