You can shorten the cook time to 55 minutes, if you cut up the roast into 2-3 inch pieces. Either way, you will get the most tender and delicious beef!
What Goes On Italian Beef
Italian beef is most often served on a hoagie or sub type bun. In my family my husband always add banana peppers. I like to add sauteed mushrooms. And then you have to have cheese! Provolone is our favorite, but you can use whatever you like. Or you could top with peppers and onions like these Fajita Veggies.
Storage
Italian Beef is one of those things that is great to make ahead and have in the fridge or freezer for any day of the week. You can refrigerate for up 4-5 days and reheat in the crockpot or even a saucepan. But you can also freeze it!
Freeze in an airtight container for 4-5 months. Then when you are ready to serve, let it thaw in the fridge overnight before reheating in the crockpot or on the stove top.
