Before anything else, we’ll make the basic béchamel sauce to use later in the recipe! First, get a medium saucepan and melt the butter over medium-low heat. Adding flour and stir to smooth. Continue to cook the mixture until it turns light golden, about six or seven minutes.
Meanwhile, heat the milk in a separate saucepan until it’s almost boiling. Once it’s hot enough, gradually add 1 cup of the hot milk to the butter, whisking all the while until smooth. Once all the milk is incorporated, bring everything to a boil and let it cook for about 10 minutes, stirring constantly. Seasoning it at the end with salt also nutmeg & you’re good to go!
Now that sauce is ready, preheat oven to 400 degrees. Next, get a large bowl and toss the packet of beef with chopped parsley and paprika. Adding little salt & pepper as well. Once you have all the ingredients together, mix all the ingredients together until they are well combined.
Next, peel three potatoes and boil them until almost soft, about seven minutes. Once they’re ready, take them out and cut them into slices, arranging them around the bottom of a round glass baking dish. Laying flat layer on the bottom and arrange other layer around sides as well.
Next, take the meat mixture and roll it into ice cream scoop-sized meatballs—the whole thing should make about 15 meatballs. Next, arrange them on the potato slices that you placed earlier.
Once you have the meatballs together, use the remaining potato slices to put walls between the meatballs so that they each have their own section. Pour the béchamel sauce into all the “compartments” until they are relatively full and top everything with a thin layer of grated mozzarella.
Finally, placing entire dish in your preheated oven for 15 mn. Once you’re done, you’ll have a delicious and cheesy French style casserole the whole family will love!
Enjoy !
