Ingredients
°2 tablespoons salted butter
°1 tablespoon olive oil
°1 onion, very thinly sliced
°½ t granulated garlic
°1 pound 85% lean ground beef
°½ teaspoon of salt
°1 teaspoon burger seasoning
°½ c portobello mushrooms
°ground black pepper to taste
°4 slices of Swiss cheese
°4 buns or buns, hamburger, white, enriched, plain
*Step by step
Heat a skillet on medium heat. Add butter and oil; heat until the butter is melted. Add onion and garlic. Cook to onion is soft also translucent, for 5 minutes.
Meanwhile, divide the minced meat into 4 portions and shape into patties. Season with salt and seasoning.
Heat a large skillet or skillet over medium-high heat for a few minutes. Place the patties in the hot pan and mash with a spatula or bacon press. Hold the patties for 30 seconds, then cover each patty with some of the cooked onion. Cook for 2 minutes. Carefully flip the burgers, making sure to scrape up any browned bits from the pan.
Press the flipped patties to press the onions into the meat.
Meanwhile, add the sliced mushrooms to the pan used for the onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Salt and pepper the patties and place a slice of cheese on each. Cook until burgers have reached desired doneness, 2 to 4 minutes longer. Top each patty with leftover onions and mushrooms and serve on buns.
Enjoy !
